1) DON'T BE A JERK: "Being a jerk" includes: trolling*, feeding trolls, plaigerising, forgetting the "constructive" part of constructive criticism, being oversensitive about people who offer criticism in good faith, not conforming to posting requirements, and sassing people. If you have to stop and ask yourself "is this jerky behavior?" the answer is probably yes, and you shouldn't do it. THIS IS YOUR WARNING. Mods may choose to excuse poor behavior depending on the situation, but a first offense IS a bannable offense if it is offensive enough. If you need a third warning in order to figure out if you're being a jerk, you should not be using the internets.
* Trolling is here defined as: creating a post or a comment with insulting or otherwise inflammatory content. Yes this includes pictures.
2) Posting Guidelines: Please place large or multiple images underneath a cut, for the sake of all of our flists. ONE teaser image (no larger than 3" x 5") or THREE 1" x 1" thumbnails (why yes, that's icon-sized!) may be above the cut. We likes teaser images, but you can just put the work under a cut/link to it if you'd like. Unless you clearly state otherwise, it is assumed that you would like constructive criticism in your feedback. Please include pertinent trademark information for fandom characters.
ABSOLUTELY NO ADULT IMAGERY MAY BE DISPLAYED ABOVE THE CUT. IF YOU HAVE TO ASK IF IT QUALIFIES AS ADULT, IT PROBABLY DOES. All posts that contain adult imagery must be clearly labelled.
You can post: Sketches, paintings, drawings, digital works, animations, sculptures, crafts, costumes, etc. PLAIGERISM WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE BANNING. Only post work that you yourself have made, or work that you have the express permission of the artist to share (and if so, credit them, obviously).
3) Constructive Criticism: Only leave constructive criticism if the poster hasn't said that they would rather not have it. Leaving criticism for posters who ask you not to IS CONSIDERED TROLLING. Remember that people are sensitive about their artwork, and thus tact and diplomacy are your friends. Constructive criticism includes pointing out things an artist has done well in addition to things he or she could improve, and if possible, suggesting ways to pursue that improvement. SEE RULE #1.
Your mods are: snapples_apples. If you need a mod's attention for any reason, please leave a reply here (they are screened), but remember that we have to sleep and hold down jobs. We would like to have a mod from every major nexus/multiverse-style comm, so if you'd like to volunteer (halp!), please apply here!
